Valentine's Day is usually a day filled with flowers and chocolates; but this year The Intersection, again, filled this holiday with the much loved bumping beats of House Music and one of our favorites, DJ Irene. Diva DJ Irene was back from LA to warm up another wintry West Michigan night. Here as the headliner for the Heartbreaker's Ball at the Intersection. Hundreds showed up for an evening of house music. Thanks to the influence of MTV's Jersey Shore, the evening was full of fist pumping and beating up the beat. People of all ages joined the crowded dance floor complete with glow sticks and energetic lasers bouncing around to the sounds of several DJ's.

The night started with talented local DJ's including Todd Ernst, Jenny Disko, Slim Tim, Jenna3Fires and Random Sample. It was amazing to see so many local DJ's on the cutting edge of house music. Our local DJ's played an array of styles of house music including; hard, electro, progressive, and a touch of circuit.

The Diva of Hard House, DJ Irene, blew us away with her continuous beats; we simply could not stop dancing. Irene is the number one album selling female DJ in the world. She has spun in many countries and clubs all over the globe, including the world wide mecca of club life and dance music, Ibiza, Spain. After only the first minute of listening to her music, party goers quickly realized why Irene is know as the Diva of Hard House Music. Amazing.

Many left the Heartbreaker's Ball that night dripping in sweat but still dancing to the music (that was, at this point, only playing in their minds). It is always a pleasure to see that Grand Rapids can enjoy the beats that are so popular in the most progressive cities of the country... and around the world.
