Kopper Top - West Side - Grand Rapids – 2 Wednesday 2009 The GRSD travelled to Grand Rapids' west side to the corner of Stocking and Fourth, the home of the Kopper Top. The not so "best kept secret" is a neighborhood favorite but well-regarded by a mixed crowd throughout the state. Guests not only experience a great meal served by Cindy or another one of their friendly, familiar staff while taking in the scenery and the ever changing decor.
One cannot get a true feel of this cozy local hangout by simply viewing photos alone. Aside from the traditional copper trappings proudly displayed throughout, the restaurant changes their entire decor with the holidays and the seasons. Whether it is a beach theme in the summer, the audacious Christmas-themed Yuletide gear, or my favorite, the over-the-top Halloween is entertaining for people of all ages.
The Kopper Top is open Monday through Thursday from 11am to 10 pm; Friday 11am to 11pm and from noon to 11pm on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays. Great food, friendly service, a constantly evolving atmosphere and local jazz on Thursdays. Stop in sometime and belly up to the coolest copper bar in town. Say hi to Cindy and you’ll quickly find yourself a regular. Simply put, the Kopper Top is fantastic.
